Johnstown man Brian Giles charged with homicide in wife's death

UPDATE:Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities have released new details about the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Giles and the arrest of her husband, Brian Giles. Brian Giles was taken into custody Friday afternoon and charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and hindering apprehension. Authorities say Brian's wife Nancy was reported missing on October 23, 2018 and her body was later discovered along the James Wolf Sculpture Trail in May of 2019.

Jurors dismissed in civil trial of ex-Bellwood-Antis coach convicted of child sex abuse

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Blair County court officials say the civil lawsuit involving former Bellwood-Antis wrestling coach Ryan Blazier is now expected to be settled outside of court after the jurors in the case were dismissed. The civil trial against Blazier and the Bellwood-Antis school district was expected to begin this week after a lawsuit was filed on behalf of one of Blazier's victims. The lawsuit argued that the school district shared responsibility for Blazier's actions for which he was later convicted of.

Steelers officially name Teryl Austin as team's next defensive coordinator

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially promoted assistant coach Teryl Austin to be the team's next defensive coordinator, according to a team release. Coroner IDs victim of deadly Route 53 crash

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — UPDATE |Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees has identified the victim of Monday's deadly crash on Route 53 in Summerhill Township. Lees says 73-year-old Margaret A. Roles, of Lilly, was killed when her vehicle collided head-on with a triaxle. Officials say Roles was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. State police and Summerhill Township police are investigating the crash.

Juniata Gap Elementary hosts 25th annual 'Day of the Arts'

Man charged for having sex with horses

SAN ANTONIO (WOAI/KABB) - San Antonio Police arrested a man for bestiality with two horses inside an area horse barn. According to the police report, the suspect, 24-year-old Jean Bugoma, was caught on surveillance cameras in June 2020 walking through the stables naked. He is seen going into different stalls. The next morning, the owner noticed two of his horses both suffered leg injuries. A veterinarian determined that both had also been sexually and physically assaulted.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers abandons study at Foster J. Sayers Dam

HOWARD, Pa. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has discontinued its study into making modifications at Foster J. Sayers Dam to sustain aquatic habitat during historical low-flow conditions.
