Owners of the iconic Silver Drive In in Richland are looking for fresh faces to keep the operations running. But a promise has been made to keep the facility open until a new owner is found.
Owner Rick Rosko says at 72 years old it’s time for him to pass the torch to someone else who will keep the drive-in open for decades to come.
“I’ve got a 4-year-old daughter. Whenever the movies are right for her, we love to bring her and let her see something up on the big screen while having a fun and inventive night out in the back of our vehicle,” says patron Randy Oest.
Virginia man killed, another hurt in drug deal gone wrong outside shopping center: police
CENTREVILLE, Va. (WJLA) — A man was killed and another was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after what police believe was a drug-related shootout at a shopping center in Virginia, authorities told WJLA.
Fairfax County police said two men they believe had met for a drug deal in a parking lot in Centreville wound up shooting at each other Wednesday around 9:30 a.m. The building is part of the Centre Lee Business Park, which is along Route 29 just off Interstate 66.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bronny James plays piano in a video posted by his father, LeBron James, on Saturday, five days after the teenager went into cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California.
The 18-year-old plays a brief melody in front of his family, smiles and gets up without speaking in the video posted on his father's Instagram account. The video doesn't indicate where or when it was shot.
Jim Gonder retires at Philipsburg-Osceola softball coach
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Crews were on the scene of a house collapse in Pittsburgh Friday morning.
No injuries were reported, and officials haven’t said if anyone was home when the house collapsed.
NBC affiliate WPXI, reports the collapse happened on Semicir Street.
Authorities later confirmed the collapse was caused by a landslide.
Video of the scene shows a ravine between the street and the front lawn of the home.
According to local reports, that road has had issues from landslides before.
Penn State IFC President, other board members step down
UNIVERSITY PARK -- Alex Frederick, the former president of the Interfraternity Council at Penn State University, has stepped down, along with other executive officers from the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, after the death of Penn State student Timothy Piazza.
The council released the following statement through the vice president of communications, Michael Cavallaro:

Bank lays off 270 Cincinnati workers with no warning
CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Roughly 270 people are losing their jobs working remotely in Cincinnati for an international bank's call center.
One woman told WKRC there was no notice at all. Tammy Williams' routine morning was completely changed by lunchtime on Tuesday. Her job of eight years was gone without a warning.
There was no sign of respect, integrity, or even just caring about other people shown by Barclays," said Williams.Williams said she started working for Barclays when it opened its call center in Hamilton back in 2016.
Clerk took an extra $800+ for each transaction in $3 million title fraud scheme, cops say
DORAL, Fla. (TND) — The clerk at an auto tag agency near Miami is facing three dozen felonies in what's being called a $3 million title fraud scheme.
Prosecutors say that scheme started unraveling when “a stolen vehicle pinging inside the bay of a local auto shop” got the attention of police in the suburb of Doral.
That was back on Jan. 12.
Detectives executed a search warrant and found three stolen luxury vehicles: a 2022 Lamborghini Urus, a 2023 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, and a 2021 Mercedes-Benz G550, as well as two fraudulent VIN plates.
