Police seek to identify 3 in connection with stolen jewelry
CLEARFIELD - Police in Clearfield County continue to investigate the theft of approximately $40,000 worth of jewelry.
Clearfield Borough police said the incident happened Dec. 14 at Zalno Jewelers on North Third Street around 6:15 p.m.
Officer Nathan Curry said police are currently looking into possible sightings of the group at other jewelry stores to build a timeline.
"Since the actual theft has occurred, we've been working with other agencies to determine if these individuals have been in other areas of Pennsylvania or even other states,"
Two juveniles who escaped facility in Westmoreland Co. have been caught, PSP says
Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities say two juveniles who escaped from the Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention Facility over the weekend have been caught.
Police say 14-year-old Robert Anthony Cogdell and 16-year-old Braedon Matthew Dickinson were reportedly captured overnight in Fayette County.
Troopers say the pair escaped from the facility Saturday evening.
Officials say the teens led police on a brief foot pursuit prior to being taken into custody.
Troopers say the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation and apprehension of the teens.
After wind scare, balloons fly in Macy's Thanksgiving parade

Dozens of roaches found inside Johnstown restaurant, forcing its closure, state says
JOHNSTOWN — On Friday afternoon, people looking for lunch in downtown Johnstown passed by the once-popular Szechuan Restaurant and, seeing its shuttered doors and dark "open" sign, kept walking.
Michele Stefanik, a passer-by, said she was surprised to hear the restaurant was shut down.

Homeowners were having issues with hot water tank before deadly blast in Plum Borough, officials say
PLUM, Pa. (AP) — The owners of a home that exploded in western Pennsylvania last weekend were having issues with their hot water tank, authorities said, but the cause of the blast that killed five people - including two municipal officials - remains under investigation.
The explosion in Plum destroyed three structures and damaged at least a dozen others. It occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. Saturday at a home owned by Heather Oravitz, the town's community development director, and her husband.
Shop 'n Save bakes thousands of cookies for Groundhog Day
PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. — Groundhog Day is two days away and those in Jefferson County have been busy preparing.
Workers at Shop 'n Save in Punxsutawney have been baking groundhog cookies since the beginning of the year.
"It's been hard to keep up and keep the table full because we sell so many of them," said Bakery Manager Karen Love. "Once we start making groundhog cookies, that's what is selling."
Love said for the last 20 years, the store has been making cookies as part of the town's celebration.
SPCA seeks help after rescuing farm animals in Clearfield Co.
The Clearfield County SPCA is asking for help on Facebook after rescuing some farm animals.
The post said state police helped in the removal of the animals Wednesday.
Details are limited, according to the post, because it is a humane case, but the animals are being fostered.
The SPCA is asking for donations to help with the sheltering of the animals.
They are asking for: hay, goat, horse, and cow food, and monetary donations, too.
'Poor air quality' forces Benner Elementary School closure
BELLFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) — The Bellfonte Area School District announced the temporary closure of Benner Elementary School due to poor air quality in the building.
