Rudy Giuliani pleads not guilty in Arizona election interference case

PHOENIX (AP) — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani pleaded not guilty Tuesday to nine felony charges stemming from his role in an effort to overturn Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss in Arizona to Joe Biden. Ten others, including former Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward, also pleaded not guilty to conspiracy, forgery and fraud charges related to the case. Giuliani appeared remotely for the arraignment that was held in a Phoenix courtroom.

2 arrested in connection to armed robbery at Hornerstown AutoZone, police say

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Two men have been charged after an armed robbery earlier this month at the AutoZone in the Hornerstown section of Johnstown, according to police. According to police, 23-year-old Juquette Charles, of Johnstown, and 18-year-old Gavin Hopkins, of Philadelphia, walked into AutoZone. Police say one displayed a firearm and they demanded money from the register. They removed the money and then left the scene. They got into a waiting van in the parking lot of Team Collision Center.

Man dragged by bear following fatal car crash, Massachusetts state police say

HATFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A man who was dragged by a bear following a car crash was most likely dead at the time, Massachusetts State Police said. First responders found the man outside of the car in Hatfield on Sunday morning and saw a bear in the woods nearby, Dave Procopio, a spokesperson for the state police, said in a statement. “Evidence suggests the bear at some point had made contact with the victim’s body,” he said.

More than 2,000 properties behind on taxes up for sale in Cambria County

JOHNSTOWN -- Out of an estimated 87,000 properties in Cambria County, approximately 12,000 are behind on taxes, and about 2,100 are up for sale. Properties that are two years behind on property taxes are put into the tax sale system, where people can buy them for much cheaper than usual. For instance, at a private sale, which happens four times a year, people buy properties for as little as $200, although they still owe any back taxes in mortgages.

Search for new Essential Air Service carrier underway for Johnstown Airport

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The Johnstown-Cambria County Airport Authority confirmed they are searching for a new airliner as regional airports across the U.S. were recently notified by SkyWest Airlines that they will be terminating their Essential Air Service contracts. The Airport Authority said in a release sent to 6 News Wednesday that the search is already underway to provide a new carrier to the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport. SkyWest signed a contract that began in December 2020 and was to last until 2023 to provide services through the federal subsidy program for United Airlines flights to Washington Dulles International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

Spillane had been out since Week 13 after suffering a knee injury in the Steelers' loss to Washington. Penn State offers buyouts for employees at Commonwealth campuses

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Is Penn State moving closer to closing some Commonwealth campuses? That’s a primary question with the university now offering buyouts to commonwealth campus employees, which they're calling "voluntary separations." Penn State says the decision is due to a significant drop in enrollment at the campuses while it continues to work on lowering its operating budget deficit. The university says involuntary layoffs could happen in the future.

Penn State to play in Peach Bowl

It was announced on ESPN Sunday that Penn State will be playing in the Peach Bowl this year against Ole Miss. The game is scheduled to be played at noon at December 30 and is Penn State's first time participating in the Peach Bowl.
